Method 1: Computer Configuration

  1. Press the Windows and R keys together to open Run

Method 2: Changing the value

  1. Press the Windows and R keys together to open Run
  2. Next, type in ‘regedit’ in the given space and then proceed by clicking on OK.

  3. Proceed by simply clicking on YES when asked by the User Account Control.
  4. Look for and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand, then double click on Software, then on Microsoft, Windows and then finally go to Data Collection.


  5. Then, click twice on Allow Telemetry.

    However, please note that if you can’t find this option then create it yourself by doing a right click on DataCollection and then selecting New>DWORD (32 bit) Value. Lastly, give the value the name of Allow Telemetry.

  6. In the given space of Value date, type 0 (zero) and select OK.
